Born and raised in Saskatoon, James Hopper is a designer and maker of fine furniture. He was first introduced to woodworking in his father’s backyard workshop. This interest soon became an obsession when Hopper studied craft and design in Norway. A desire for more formalized training took him to Nelson, B.C., home of one of Canada’s few fine woodworking schools.
Hopper has spent the past 20 years developing the multitude of skills necessary to craft exquisite pieces for a broad range of clients throughout North America. His contemporary styles have been featured in many publications both national and regional, including Style at Home, Harrowsmith Country Life, Homes West and Western Living.
